What: "Stitch and Bitch" is a hands-on, mindfulness-focused workshop where participants engage in punch needle while exploring the connections between emotions, symbolism, and creative expression. This one-day workshop retreat introduces the meditative aspects of fiber art, guiding participants in using colour, texture, and form to explore and reflect on emotional states through abstract design. Hosted by Katie Young MOT and Brittney Casavant MEd and Textile artist.

This workshop is for you if you:

Workshop Kit:
Access to tons of different wool yarns in varying textures, weights and colours.
20" Cloth wrapped wood frame.
9” hooped cloth, student will borrow the hoop for this part of the activity.
Students will borrow a #10 regular Oxford Punch Needle for the workshop; it is not a part of the kit. Punch needles and other supplies can be purchased through Brittney before or after the workshop.

Drinks + Eats: The food at Pineridge Hollow is divine and we are excited to offer light breakfast and afternoon snack for our participants, included in the cost of the day. Participants will have lunch hour on their own, they are welcome to bring a lunch, or choose from the food venues at Pineridge Hollow. Please bring a water bottle for the day and a reusable coffee or tea mug.
What to Wear: We will be in the Forest Dome, which is a short walk from the Village. Please let us know if you have accessibility considerations that we can provide. Comfortable shoes and clothing will be perfect for this cozy day together. Dress for the weather as you will have opportunity to spend time in nature during the day.
Prerequisite: None! Punch needle is beginner friendly and easy to learn. No prior experience with punch needling is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore!
Class Size: This retreat is limited to 10 participants.
